POLICIES & GUIDELINES
Weather Guidelines
The club follows US Youth Soccer’s guidelines for environmental conditions, found here.
Gameday Inclement Weather / Lightning Scenarios
In the case of inclement weather, the decision to suspend play or cancel a game falls solely to the match officials or the facility at which the game is played. Referees will follow league policy when making weather-related decisions.
For Duke City Soccer League games (Select), matches will end / be terminated at 10 minutes prior to the next scheduled game on that field. If a match is in the second half, the score of the match will count as a completed match.
Practice Scenarios
Practice may be delayed, shorted or cancelled due to inclement weather. The club aims to be proactive when altering or cancelling training to avoid unnecessary travel when possible and to keep everyone safe.
Development League Registration Policy
U5-U15 Development League players wishing to return to their same team, request a teammate or request a coach must do so before the seasonal deadline (Aug 11 for Fall 2026). No exceptions. After this period, players are allocated to teams. Once players are allocated, teams are then assessed for any open roster spots.
Open roster spots are filled based on the time and date of registration to ensure fairness for all.
Northern does its best to accommodate requests submitted at registration, but cannot make full guarantees.
